Privacy Policy

Chris T. Wright ("we," "us," or "our") is a sole proprietor based in St. Johns County, Florida, offering consulting and digital services through buildwithwright.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through buildwithwright.com (the "Site"), how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

The short version: we collect only what we need to respond to you and do our work, we do not sell your information, and we do not use advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site, and you can opt out of it.

01Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit our inquiry form, we collect:

• Name
• Email address
• Business name
• Phone number (optional)
• Website (optional)
• The services you are interested in
• Your goals and any other details you choose to share
• Budget and timing (optional)

If you become a client, we also collect the information needed to deliver and bill for our services, such as billing contact details, project materials, and any account access you choose to provide.

Please do not send sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or passwords, through the inquiry form.

Information collected automatically

• IP address. When you submit the form, your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to limit repeated submissions and prevent spam. We do not store it with your inquiry.
• Hosting and security data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request in order to deliver the Site and protect it from attacks.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site. It collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine or another website), and your device, browser, and approximate location. Google Analytics does not receive what you type into the inquiry form.
• Fonts. The Site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those fonts, Google receives your IP address and browser information.

Cookies and similar technology

Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that recognize your browser when you return to the Site. They can last up to 2 years. We do not use advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may also set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the Site from bots and abuse.

The Site also saves a small setting in your browser to remember whether you paused its animations. That setting never leaves your device.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on every website by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. 02How we use information

We use information to:

• Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you
• Prepare proposals and provide the services you request
• Send invoices, process payments, and keep business and tax records
• Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
• Protect the Site and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

03How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do so:

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and we have not linked it to any advertising account.

We may also disclose information if we believe it is required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, our clients, or others, or in connection with a sale, merger, or transfer of the business.

04Calls, texts, and email

If you give us your phone number, you agree that we may call or text you about your inquiry or project. We do not send marketing text messages, and we do not sell or share phone numbers. You can reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them. Message and data rates may apply.

We email you about your inquiry and any work we do together. If we ever send marketing emails, each one will include a way to unsubscribe.

05Information we handle for clients

When we build, host, or maintain websites, applications, or automations for clients, we may process information about our clients' own customers and website visitors. We handle that information on our client's behalf and according to their instructions. Our client's privacy policy governs that information, and requests about it should be directed to that client.

06How long we keep information

• Inquiries that do not become projects: up to 2 years, then deleted.
• Client records, contracts, and invoices: at least 7 years, for tax and legal purposes.
• Hosting and security data: kept by Cloudflare under its own retention practices.
• Analytics data: detailed, visit-level data is kept in Google Analytics for no more than 14 months. Summary reports that do not identify individual visitors may be kept longer.

07Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that is inaccurate
• Delete your information

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may keep information that we are legally required to retain, such as invoices. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics at any time, using the options described under "Cookies and similar technology" above.

08Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. There is no common standard for responding to Do Not Track, so the Site does not currently change how it works when it receives one.

Google Analytics collects information about your visits to the Site over time, as described above. Google may also receive information about your visit through Google Fonts. We do not use either one to follow you across other websites or to show you ads. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for advertising, a Global Privacy Control signal does not change how the Site works. To stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits, use the opt-out options described under "Cookies and similar technology."

09Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections to the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Children

The Site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

11Where information is processed

We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If we make a material change to how we use personal information, we will make reasonable efforts to notify people who have contacted us, such as by email.
